Casinos en Las Filipinas

The Philippines has always had many forms of gambling such as cock fighting or "sabong", "jueteng", mahjong, and card games like "pusoy dos", a climbing game which is a known variant of the Big Two, as part of their culture. It is a known fact that despite the presence of Catholicism and its firm stand against any form of gambling, most Filipinos would still view gambling as another form of entertainment and a way to pass the time. It is due to this fact that a wide array of casinos and gaming centers, both in real life and online have been flourishing.

In the Philippines, there are twelve cities that are known to have at least seventeen gambling facilities which are considered as legal. These facilities would consist only of casinos, which are the only legal venues for gambling in the country. In the city of Manila, there are about 5 casinos present. These venues, apart from offering slot machines and other gaming facilities, would also tend to hold ballroom dancing events which pave the way for the casinos flourishing industry, as most of those that go ballroom dancing are rich women or men, but usually there are more women, that are at the retired age who just want to enjoy their life and spend the cash they've earned over the years, splurging on fun-filled events and activities present within the casino compound.

Casinos such as the "Casino Filipino" which is located in Paranaque City, offers such services and activities. In the Casino Filipino in Paranaque alone, there are about seven hundred plus slot machines and video poker games, and about eighty plus table games, and is classified as one of the biggest casinos that can be found in the country. Many casinos around the Philippines may offer slot machine services and games such as Blackjack, Baccarat, Mini Baccarat, Pai Gow Poker and the like!

These casinos are often geared to target the A and B class of Philippine society. It therefore allows for the richer Filipinos to spend their money and in doing so, would indirectly assist in providing jobs for the many less fortunate lower classes. Restaurants in the casino premises alone would provide many waiter and waitress jobs, as well as jobs for cooks or chefs. The fact that ballroom dancing is also scheduled in the casino can provide jobs for many dance instructors and dance professionals who teach various Latin styles of dancing. Because its services are focused on the upper class, the benefits for the masses could definitely outweigh the negative aspects of its existence.

There are many benefits that may be reaped from the establishment of casinos in the Philippines. Not only can it provide many jobs for the population, but it can also promote more tourism and trade in the cities.
